Environmental Factors Paper Lab: Students measure the wingspan and eyespot on Buckeye Butterflies (images) to determine how temperature (environmental factor) affected their growth. Genetic Factors Paper Lab: Students count the digital pads on images of cat paws. They use this information and information from a data table to determine if cats’ “double paws” are influenced by the environment or genetics. Final Assessment: The unit concludes with a 10-question multiple-choice assessment. Critical thinking is required to answer the questions!
