Description This book by the National Sanctuary of Our Lady of Ta’ Pinu documents the entire restoration and conservation process carried out on the beloved 400-year old painting of Our Lady of Ta’ Pinu four years ago, along with the history of the same sanctuary and the painting itself. The Prodigious Altarpiece of the Madonna Ta’ Pinu contains 128 full-colour pates, with more than 160 images. The photography and design is by Daniel Cilia. ‘Following restoration in 2020, the painting of Ta’ Pinu has recovered the pristine glory and beauty Karmni Grima beheld in 1883 when Our Lady addressed her from the painting. The same happens in our regard today, Mary is still calling us to come to her to experience the beauty of our God. Our Lady of Ta’ Pinu is still entreating us to pray because prayer keeps us alive, connecting us with God’s own beauty.
